General information
The summer schools organised by the Historical Sociolinguistics Network (HiSoN) offer classes by leading experts in modern and historical sociolinguists. There is space for only 40 graduate students and young (at heart!) researchers, so you are advised to register early.
Dates: 13–18 July 2026
Location: Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium
The summer school lasts one week, with arrival on Sunday 12 July. Classes take place from Monday to Friday, with an excursion scheduled for Saturday. Departure is on Sunday 19 July in the morning.
As in previous editions of the HiSoN Summer School, participants attend all seven courses. Each course consists of four contact hours. Participants will also have the opportunity to present their own research in a dedicated session.
